An alphabetical listing of Windows clients written especially for muds. A lot of these are old links.

Ashavar's Legacy MUD Client

A free and easy to download client that has an automapper, manual mapping, edit box, customizable buttons, aliases, actions, hotkeys, replacements, delay timers, math and logic commands, stacking, speedwalking, ignore lists, arrow keys, customizable fonts, and ANSI color. The GUI version for Windows 9X/NT/ME and the console mode version for Linux can be downloaded from http://www.ashavar.com/client.


A Windows mud client with plugin support. Alpha version 0.84.

AvPlay? is a fully featured Winsock MUD playing client, specifically designed for Avalon but works with most MUD types. It runs under Windows 3.1/95/NT. It supports logging, user macros, triggers, and autmoated commands.

BeipMU? is a fast, compact MUCK/MUSH client for Windows 95/98/Me? and NT/W2k/XP. Though small in size, it is packed with powerful features such as triggers, macros, logging, ANSI color support, regular expressions, and JavaScript? support!


Fire Client

Fire Client works as a regular mud client and runs on Windows95/NT. It also supports IMP (Interactive Mudding Protocol) on IMP enabled servers.

GMud32 is designed to facilitate interaction with a MUD server, and can be used in place of the standard telnet command. It supports ANSI color, macros, triggers and sound triggers. This program requires Windows 3.1 with Win32s 1.2 or later or Windows NT or Windows 95, and Winsock to run. A 32-bit winsock client is required under Win95. Version 1.9b.

MuckClient? is designed for the Microsoft Windows environment, although should run under emulators on other platforms. MuckClient? is designed to help people who play Multi user games such as MUDs, Mucks, Mushes, Moos and the like.



MuckIt? is a client for MUDs, MUCKs, and MUSEs. It supports the common features of gags, notifications, and command history. It's major feature is graphics support. MuckIt? includes a paint program, object editor, and event editor with automated in MUD creation routines so any MUCK or MUSE can use the graphics.

Mud Mage 5

Mud Mage is a Windows95/NT client that supports ANSI color, automapping, triggers, hotkeys, logging and internal note editing.

Mud Master

Mud Master is a 32bit mud client designed to run under Windows' console mode. The console mode is text based -- if you are looking for a graphical client with menus and a mouse-driven interface, MM isn't for you. Mud Master features tintin like scripting, chat, aliases, triggers/actions, macros, highlights, gags, and a lot more.


Mud Master 2000

Mud Master 2000 is a 32-bit Text Based, MUD (Multi-User Dimension) client, designed to run under a Windows GUI (Graphical User Interface). MM2000 is a project spawned from the Mud Master projects. Very similar features but with a GUI.



MUDSOCK is a MUD/MUCK WinSock? client that runs on Windows 3.1/95/NT.

MudWin? is a WinSock?-based MUD client. Version 1.0.6.

MUSHClient is a MUD/MUSH/MUCK/MOO client for Windows 95 and NT. It supports MUD Client Compression Protocol (MCCP), tab-completion, aliases, triggers, timers, keypad-navigation, speed-walking, scripting, ANSI color, user-defined fonts.

MUTT(tm) Lite is a Multi-User Trivial Terminal client that provides Winsock access to MU* hosts. As the name implies, it is not intended to be a full-featured client nor does it attempt to compete with more established clients such as TF.

Phoca is a Windows® winsock MU* client. Phoca was designed with ease of use with social type MU*s as opposed to fighting MUDs. Phoca is a full featured client and will continue to add flexibility and power user features in the future. Phoca comes in 2 flavors. Phoca is a 16 bit version that works on Windows 3.1, 95 and NT 3.51 and 4.0 and Phoca 95 is a 32 bit program using the Windows 95 interface features and works only on Windows 95/98 and NT 4.0.

Portal is a mud client for Windows95/98/NT. It supports automapping, triggers, macros, grammar checking, and an internal programming language.

Pueblo is a Win32 Mud client that supports server-side HTML-like extensions. It is no longer supported but source code has been released under license.

SimpleMU? is winsock based client designed for connecting over the internet to a MUD Game server. It is written with the MUSH style of game server in mind such as TinyMUSH?, AlloyMUSH?, TinyMUX? and PennMUSH? game servers. It also works with all other game types including MUDs, MUCKs and MOOs.

TinyFugue?, aka "tf", is a flexible, screen-oriented MUD client, for use with any type of MUD.

tkMOO-light is an advanced chat client suitable for use with muds and especially MOO systems. The client runs on UNIX, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT and Macintosh platforms.

VTW is a programmable client that will run on Win32 or Unix. It features a c-like scripting language, supports multiple connections, and has color highlighting.

    Another Winsock MU* client. Version 0.4d.



    A windows port of tintin++ 1.96 running inside a VT102 console terminal.


    WinTin? dotNet

    Wintin.Net is a GUI client built using the .Net framework. It is based on the tintin++ style of scripting, and features a bunch of interesting features such as a built-in script debugger and visual script editor.



    This is a full windows application. It comes with 500 line scrollback, and the ability to pick whatever font you're most comfortable with.



    Zugg's Mud Client is a GUI client that supports multiple character windows (multiplaying), aliases, triggers with complex pattern matching, macro keys, variables, speedwalking, automatic map generation, equipment database, graphical buttons, extensive built-in and user-defined functions, ANSI color, VT100 support, word wrapping, alarms, and online help. It is fully customizeable and compatible with proxy servers and firewalls, Windows 95, 98, and NT.
